Scope of the standard

ABNT NBR 15715 establishes the technical requirements for high-density polyethylene (HDPE) corrugated pipes used to protect electrical, telecommunications, and fiber-optic cables in underground and overhead installations.

Dimensions

It specifies nominal diameters, minimum wall thicknesses, and dimensional tolerances to ensure compatibility between pipes from different manufacturers and connection fittings.

Compressive Strength

Pipes must withstand specific compressive loads without permanent deformation, ensuring structural integrity when buried. Strength classes go up to 750 N.

Impact Resistance

Impact tests simulate real-world transportation and installation conditions, ensuring that the pipe withstands mechanical shocks without cracking or rupturing.
