▶ The Challenge
Replacing overhead wiring with underground infrastructure in Brazil’s oldest historical center Olinda, founded in 1535 and recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1982, without compromising the colonial structures that define the city’s landscape.
▶ The Solution
The Techduto NBR line has made it possible to open shallower trenches that do not compromise historic foundations. The light and flexible material has adapted to the irregular streets in the center, minimizing interventions on the original paving.
▶ Results
- Esthetics of the historic center preserved
- Extended safety — no risk of collision, wind or trees affecting the wiring
- Increased reliability of the power grid
